The management of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) announced its first YEA job fair to attract all categories of job seekers.

According to the YEA, the fair, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations (MELR), is part of the realization of the vision of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s One Million Jobs Agenda and online with the YEA Job Programs of the center.

The two-day event scheduled for Thursday 9 and Friday 10 September 2021, will be organized around the theme; “Bridging the employment gap in partnership with the private sector”. The venue is the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

The main objective of the YEA Career Fair is to offer job seekers the opportunity to go through live interviews with a view to being hired by participating companies. The fair also seeks to showcase job opportunities available or offered by companies and business leaders.

About fifty companies in the public and private sectors are expected to publish their job offers for the large pool of unemployed young Ghanaians.

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations (MELR), the management of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) is pleased to inform the general public that the YEA Job Center will organize its first “YEA Job Fair” to attract all categories of Job seekers.

The program is part of realizing His Excellency the President’s vision for One Million Jobs Agenda and in line with the YEA Job Center programs.

The two-day event scheduled for Thursday 9 and Friday 10 September 2021 will be organized on the theme “Bridging the employment gap in partnership with the private sector”. The venue is the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

The Fair is also supposed to attract the participation of an estimated minimum number of fifty companies from the public and private sectors and they are expected to advertise their vacancies for the large pool of unemployed young people who will certainly attend.

The main objective of the YEA Career Fair is to offer job seekers the opportunity to go through live interviews with a view to being hired by participating companies. The fair also seeks to showcase job opportunities available or offered by companies and business leaders.

Participating companies will have access to a large pool of qualified job seekers who can be easily interviewed. Apart from live interviews and recruitment, job seekers will benefit from free training on Curriculum Vitae preparation, Interview preparation, Career advice, etc.

This is the first time that the job fair has been organized after the launch of the YEA JOB CENTER in October 2019, which enabled more than three thousand (3000) young people to obtain permanent employment in the public and private sector. .

The YEA JOB CENTER is a novelty of the current management of YEA to provide potential job seekers with additional skills for the creation of sustainable jobs or employment opportunities.

The center has three components, a virtual platform serving as an interface between employers and job seekers to meet their entry-level HR needs, a walk-in center for other categories job seekers to find out about or ask for help for the online service portal and thirdly a training center where job seekers are trained in preparation for interviews, career advice and writing their curriculum vitae, among other services.

The YEA plans to replicate the Fair in other regions to bring the Employment Center closer to potential job seekers across the country.

The regional fair is scheduled to be held as follows;

• Ho on September 23, 2021 • Koforidua on October 7, 2021. • Tamale on November 4, 2021 • Kumasi on November 18 and 19, 2021, respectively.

Job seekers are assured that those who may not be hired immediately during the Fair will be listed for employment in the near future.

Participating companies and job owners can pre-register at www.yeajobcentre.gov.gh

However, interested job seekers can also log on to the website to access the range of job vacancies available on the YEA JOB CENTER portal.
